It's an active stretch ahead, but it's a stretch nonetheless that will feature temperatures more typical for June than mid-April. By Thursday, temperatures in the Capital Region have a solid chance of topping out at 80 degrees or higher before cooler air begins to move in towards the end of the forecast.

At long last it’s here! Summer-like warmth takes over this week. It’s so warm, it’s going to feel like the middle of June. Winds are driving in warmer air from the southwest today. Those brisk winds will be enough to pop our temperature up to about 70 degrees. But this is the type of wind that’ll shake you around side-to-side in your car. This week’s forecast for the coast is a tricky one. Timing is everything. And it all hinges on the sea breeze.If the sea breeze gets going too early, it’ll ruin Boston Logan’s chance at hitting 70 tomorrow. But if that chilly breeze holds off long enough, and the sun heats the ground, then we’ll push past 70. By Tuesday afternoon, radar will be lit up with showers and storms punching into western New England. Daytime heating will give extra energy to these storms. We think that action arrives in Boston later in the evening. Wednesday features more sea breezes for Boston Logan International Airport. Bottom line:
