Philly's Class of '26 sees growth in college acceptances, scholarships

The School District of Philadelphia’s Class of 2026 saw growth in scholarships earned, college acceptances, and Career and Technology (CTE) certifications this year.  The School District announced Tuesday that the Class of 2026 earned nearly $450 million in scholarship offers across 7,600 students.  Its students received 6,000 college acceptances, nearly 300 to Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and more than 100 to Ivy League universities.  Nearly 800 of the District’s students earned CTE certifications, and more than 200 graduates enlisted in the military.   Compared to the Class of 2025, the School District of Philadelphia saw total scholarships earned increase by $100 million, college acceptances increase by 600, and CTE certifications increase by 200.   “This year, the number of students on track to graduate increased by

Farmed oysters may boost New York's dwindling wild populations

Farmed oysters are mixing with and potentially adding to populations of wild oysters—a once-abundant species in New York's estuaries and rivers that has declined drastically over the last century.
