Several spots hit 90 degrees today, tracking possible thunderstorms this weekend

We have more heat in store for today. Several towns and cities will hit 90 away from the coast, while we fall just short of that at the water’s edge. In fact, low/mid 80s are in store at the beaches of the North Shore and the South Shore thanks to the sea breeze. Cape Cod & the Islands will see mid and upper 70s. We’re a bit hotter – and slightly more humid – for tomorrow. There’s no threat for storms today, but we will have to contend with a few tomorrow and Sunday. Both feature enough sun to get us into the 80s (or even low 90s tomorrow), and neither is washed out. Tomorrow’s thunder threat is in the afternoon, with the greatest chance in northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Storms may roam into Greater Boston or drift down to the South Shore, but they’re in weakened form. And they’re late day for everyone – even into the evening in Boston and points south.
