Cheaper does it: Mamdani to share new details on NYC's first city-owned grocery stores

What’s affordable, healthy, and consumed all over? Groceries from your local city-owned supermarket. Mayor Zohran Mamdani is generating some buzz this week with his announcement that New York City is gearing up to open its first batch. He is expected to talk about his plans at a press conference later Tuesday. Joining him will be Deputy Mayor for Economic Justice Julie Su. Ancient graves and DNA uncover family bonds that went beyond genetics

You probably have a member of your family that you're not related to by blood—a step-parent, an adopted cousin, your mom's best friend who you grew up calling your aunt. They're indisputably part of your family, but a DNA test wouldn't hint at your relationship. Archaeologists are finding that this holds true for families from thousands of years ago, too.

4 things to know about the weather: The heat is on! Close to 90° Tuesday Records likely Wednesday & Thursday Cool, showery Sunday An impressive April heat wave arrives Tuesday.
