Sparks sending Rickea Jackson to Sky in blockbuster trade for Ariel Atkins

The Chicago Sky have made another big splash, acquiring forward Rickea Jackson from the Los Angeles Sparks. Jackson, the fourth overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, just finished her second season for Los Angeles, averaging 14.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.6 steals per game for the Sparks. According to reports, the Sky will send guard Ariel Atkins to the Sparks in the trade, with no draft picks changing hands. Atkins averaged 13.1 points, 3.6 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game last season for the Sky. Needless to say, it’s been a busy offseason for the Sky, as they also brought in veteran Seattle Storm point guard Skylar Diggins. A seven-time WNBA All-Star, Diggins averaged 15.5 points and six assists per game last season for Seattle, and hopes to rejuvenate a Sky team that has struggled in recent seasons.
